Donna Kelce\u00a0has always set a strong example for her boys.<\/p>\n
For\u00a0Glamour\u2019s 2024\u00a0Women of the Year: The Moms\u00a0issue, the 71-year-old matriarch shared what it was like for her and ex-husband\u00a0Ed Kelce\u00a0to raise their sons \u2014 retired Philadelphia Eagles center\u00a0Jason Kelce, 36, and Kansas City Chiefs tight end\u00a0Travis Kelce, 34 \u2014\u00a0before they got famous.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was a commercial banker for a bank in several different states. I wanted to get ahead. I worked really, really hard. I was a major breadwinner in the family,\u201d Kelce said. \u201cAnd I think it\u2019s important for kids to see that a woman can do whatever she wants, but I did stand still, too.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy husband and I knew that our marriage was not working, but we stayed together for the kids,\u201d Donna explained. \u201cOurs was a very friendly relationship. So, we could do that and make sure that their life was normal as possible. But in that one respect, I did stand still for several years until I could move on on my own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donna shared her thoughts in\u00a0Glamour\u2019s group interview, which also included\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9\u00a0and\u00a0Solange\u2019s mom\u00a0Tina Knowles, 70;\u00a0Billie Eilish\u00a0and\u00a0Finneas\u2019\u00a0mom\u00a0Maggie Baird, 65; and\u00a0Selena Gomez\u00a0and\u00a0Gracie Teefey\u2019s mom\u00a0Mandy Teefey, 48.<\/p>\n She also revealed what motherhood was like for her, saying that \u201cbeing a mom is probably the hardest thing I\u2019ve ever done in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so much easier to just go to work, but raising children, when they\u2019re totally dependent on you and you\u2019re trying to do the best you can with the limited resources that you have, it\u2019s the most daunting task I\u2019ve ever had to do,\u201d Donna added.<\/p>\n But now that her boys are grown, Donna has been making time for herself.<\/p>\n This Christmas, she\u2019s set to appear in the Hallmark Channel’s upcoming Kansas City-set movie,\u00a0Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story<\/em>.<\/p>\n She also makes a cameo in another film, titled\u00a0Christmas on Call<\/em>, which centers on “the lives of first responders in Philadelphia” who “intersect over the holiday season while juggling work, personal lives, and their dedication to protect and serve their city,” according to the logline.<\/p>\n In it, Donna can be seen proudly sporting an Eagles jersey.<\/p>\n But keeping true in not playing favorites, Donna recently attended the New York City premiere of FX\u2019s Grotesquerie in support of Travis\u2019 role in the series.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, I don\u2019t think they realize the pressure that people are under, whether they\u2019re athletes or professionals that are in front of the camera.
