{"id":7673,"date":"2024-10-05T01:47:04","date_gmt":"2024-10-05T01:47:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportnews.drinkfood.info\/?p=7673"},"modified":"2024-10-05T01:47:04","modified_gmt":"2024-10-05T01:47:04","slug":"breaking-dolphins-make-controversial-decision-on-starting-qb-for-week-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportnews.drinkfood.info\/?p=7673","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Dolphins make controversial decision on starting QB for Week 5."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>he Dolphins know who they&#8217;re rolling with in Week 5.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"qcImg\"><\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.clutchpoints.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Dolphins-news-Miami-makes-starting-QB-decision-for-Week-5.jpg?w=1200\" alt=\"Tyler Huntley in a Dolphins jersey and Skylar Thompson in a Dolphins jersey.\" \/>Coming off a\u00a0disappointing performance against the Tennessee Titans\u00a0on Monday Night Football, the\u00a0Miami Dolphins\u00a0already know who their\u00a0starting quarterback\u00a0will be\u00a0for Week 5.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"qcmgidgb\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"qcmgidgb2\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cDolphins HC Mike McDaniel announced that Tyler \u201cSnoop\u201d Huntley will start again Sunday when Miami plays at New England,\u201d ESPN&#8217;s Adam Schefter tweeted on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Huntley started in Week 4, and finished the game with 96 passing yards, and 40 rushing yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe injury that [Skylar Thompson] sustained has been kind of labor-some getting back, so we&#8217;re planning on going with Tyler [Huntley],\u201d McDaniel said. \u201cAfter reviewing the tape, there&#8217;s reasons for guys to be excited about that. While the outcome wasn&#8217;t nearly what we wanted offensively, there were some things to build upon that we&#8217;ll keep working through and we&#8217;re excited to do that tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"qcmgidgb3\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Dolphins&#8217; offense couldn&#8217;t get anything going against the Titans, finishing with 184 total yards, which has been their worst offensive game since Tua Tagovailoa&#8217;s first start in 2020. With Tagovailoa not being able to return until at least Week 8 and\u00a0Skylar Thompson injured, the Dolphins had to turn to Huntley to lift their offense, and they still believe he can do that for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dolphins believe in\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Tyler Huntley<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.clutchpoints.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Tyler-Huntley.jpg\" alt=\"Miami Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley (18) attempts a pass against the Tennessee Titans during the second half at Hard Rock Stadium. \" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" \/>Jasen Vinlove-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>The Dolphins\u00a0have been high\u00a0on Tyler Huntley for years, dating back to when he led the Baltimore Ravens in the 2022 playoffs while Lamar Jackson was injured.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been very high on Snoop,\u201d McDaniel said.\u00a0\u201cHigh enough to give him a roster spot on the 53, which those are very few and far between with sight unseen. So his maturation has been expedited by him, and he\u2019s done an impressive job assimilating into the locker room and understanding our language as his own and the team is excited for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyreek Hill had nothing but\u00a0good things to say\u00a0about Huntley prior to them playing the Titans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been watching film of him since he\u2019s got here, I\u2019m like, \u2018This dude can make every throw,&#8217;\u201d Hill said. \u201c\u2018This dude is special with his legs.\u2019 He\u2019s a special talent. The only thing \u2014 we\u2019ve got a lot of things that go into this offense. We got motions, we\u2019ve got getting the play out before, so he\u2019s done a good job of staying in the film room learning all of that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With this being Huntley&#8217;s first start with the team, the hope is that he&#8217;ll get more comfortable however long he plays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>he Dolphins know who they&#8217;re rolling with in Week 5. &nbsp;
