He spent the majority of\u00a0his first four seasons with the Cardinals but failed to live up to his draft status with just 447 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns over 39 appearances. Isabella has also managed a kick return average of 21.2 yards throughout his professional career.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona eventually waived Isabella in 2022, which led to him signing with the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0practice squad later that season. He suited up in two games for the Ravens and spent the 2023 campaign and the 2024 offseason program \u2014 including training camp and the preseason \u2014 with the\u00a0Buffalo Bills, appearing in another two regular season games for his third\u00a0NFL\u00a0franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the Bills released Isabella at this year\u2019s 53-man cutdown. It remains to be seen if he\u2019ll be signed by Pittsburgh \u2014 who announced a\u00a0flurry of roster moves within Tuesday\u2019s NFL transaction log ahead of Week 5.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Steelers HC Mike Tomlin Hints Injury Reinforcements Could Be on the Way<\/h2>\n<p>The Steelers have begun what appears to be a large amount of roster maneuvering prior to their matchup with the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys. And a couple of those moves could still be on the way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t had those meeting yet, but probably,\u201d Steelers head coach\u00a0Mike Tomlin told reporters on October 1 after being asked about eligible players potentially being activated off of the injured reserve or PUP list sometime this week.<\/p>\n<p>Although only linebacker\u00a0Cole Holcomb\u00a0was mentioned by name, outside linebacker\u00a0Jeremiah Moon\u00a0and offensive lineman\u00a0Dylan Cook\u00a0were the two veterans that were initially\u00a0designated to return\u00a0from IR following the roster cutdown. Both have now spent the necessary four weeks on the injured reserve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a level of excitement there,\u201d Tomlin added, regarding the possible returnees. \u201cWe\u2019ll see what their participation looks like and the quality of that participation. And [decide on their status] as we get closer to gametime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moon and Cook are former UDFAs, while Holcomb was a fifth-round selection in 2019. All three would provide quality depth that is sorely needed as injuries begin to pile up in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Steelers Need More WR Help as Trade Candidates Emerge Around the NFL<\/h2>\n<p>After eventually missing on a\u00a0Brandon Aiyuk\u00a0trade despite weeks of discussion, the Steelers elected to trust in the group that they had. So far, that plan has had mixed results.<\/p>\n<p>Although the team is 3-1 with quarterback\u00a0Justin Fields\u00a0coming off an outing in which he\u00a0threw for over 300 yards \u2014 the Steelers have mostly gotten by without a strong passing attack thus far.<\/p>\n<p>Outside of star wide receiver\u00a0George Pickens\u00a0and tight end\u00a0Pat Freiermuth, only one Pittsburgh pass-catcher has accumulated\u00a0over 100 receiving yards\u00a0through the first four weeks of the season. That player is\u00a0Calvin Austin III.<\/p>\n<p>After that, the Steelers WR corps has been particularly unimpactful.<\/p>\n<p>Van Jefferson\u00a0has 36 receiving yards in four appearances, while veteran\u00a0Scotty Miller\u00a0has 31 yards. The rest of the Pittsburgh wide receivers \u2014 like rookie\u00a0Roman Wilson\u00a0or brief special teams contributor\u00a0Ben Skowronek\u00a0(now injured) \u2014 have yet to record a catch.<\/p>\n<p>Especially when you consider the injuries on the offensive line, it\u2019s not a stretch to say that adding a talented playmaker should be priority number one if the Steelers are serious about making and potentially winning a Super Bowl in 2024-25.<\/p>\n<p>On October 1, the\u00a0talk of the league\u00a0was\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders\u00a0wide receiver\u00a0Davante Adams\u00a0could be made available for the right price, but he\u2019s likely only the first of many NFL WRs to be shopped at this year\u2019s trade deadline.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GettyThe Pittsburgh Steelers worked out former Arizona Cardinals draft pick Andy Isabella.
