Cleveland Browns\u00a0defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson sacked\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0quarterback Dak Prescott on the second play of their Week 1 matchup.<\/p>\n

Now, Tomlinson will have to pay for it.<\/p>\n

According to reporter Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal, the league handed down a significant fine for Tomlinson’s hit.<\/p>\n

“#Browns DT Dalvin Tomlinson was fined $22,511 for his sack of Dallas\u00a0#Cowboys\u00a0QB Dak Prescott, where he landed with his full body weight on the quarterback,” Easterling wrote in a\u00a0post on X.<\/p>\n

Tomlinson’s fine was the largest doled out by the\u00a0NFL\u00a0in Week 1 of the season.<\/p>\n

The hit was not flagged in the game, and the fine drew plenty of controversy.<\/p>\n

“Tomlinson gets fined for a routine sack but Cowboys LB Campbell doesn\u2019t get fined for the hip-drop tackle (there was also no flag on the play btw) that injured Njoku lmao,” one fan\u00a0wrote on X.<\/p>\n
