In 30 games with the RailRiders, Rice slashed .294\/.428\/.661 with a 1.088 OPS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_yktgcn401\">The Rice promotion does not necessarily mean that Yankees manager Aaron Boone is turning to the rookie for the playoffs, however. According to\u00a0Gary Phillips\u00a0of the New York Daily News, Boone has also mentioned Oswaldo Cabrera, Trent Grisham, and even Jon Berti as potential fill-ins while Rizzo is out; Boone also was non-committal when asked if injured Yankee DJ LeMahieu would be considered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tagStyle_16dbupz-o_O-style_mxvz7o-o_O-style_12bse5w-o_O-style_6s3kpz\" data-mm-id=\"_ajukxs25b\">Additionally, despite fracturing two fingers on his right hand, the Yankees are leaving Rizzo on the active roster for the ALDS, which could be a sign that the veteran is planning to play through the pain.
