Following the Ravens loss, the Cowboys are\u00a029th in rush success rate, which is not a good look. But, former NFL quarterback and current ESPN football expert Dan Orlovsky says Cowboys franchise quarterback\u00a0Dak Prescott\u00a0isn\u2019t to blame.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think there is an offense in football that sets their quarterback up to fail more than the Cowboys do with Dak Prescott,\u201d\u00a0Orlovsky said\u00a0while appearing on the Thursday, September 26, edition of ESPN\u2019s Get Up.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Dan Orlovsky Slams Cowboys for Making It \u2018Hard\u2019 on Dak Prescott<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think there is an offense in football that sets their quarterback up to fail more than the Cowboys do with Dak Prescott.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014@danorlovsky7 \ud83d\ude33<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"ql-video\" src=\"https:\/\/video.twimg.com\/amplify_video\/1839299870009810944\/vid\/avc1\/1280x720\/8J5rIOzQGnxBzcEP.mp4?tag=16\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>During Dallas\u2019 game against Baltimore, Prescott\u00a0threw for 379 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, but the Cowboys only clocked\u00a051 rushing yards for the entire game, and the defense got pummeled for 456 total yards. The\u00a0game brought out some frustration in Prescott,\u00a0but Orlovsky says the Cowboys are making it \u201cas hard as possible\u201d on Prescott.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fundamental ways to get your quarterback to play better, or make it easier to play better, you run the football,\u201d\u00a0Orlovsky said. \u201cThe Cowboys can\u2019t. You use play action. The Cowboys don\u2019t. You use motion. The Cowboys don\u2019t. You throw screens. The Cowboys don\u2019t. They are bottom three or four in a couple [of the categories], bottom 10 in essentially all of them. In many ways they are saying \u2018Dak Prescott, we want this to be as hard as possible on you.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Dak Prescott: \u2018We\u2019ve Got to Be Cleaner\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking after the Cowboys\u2019 loss to the Ravens in a postgame press conference, Prescott\u00a0expressed his frustration with the game. When asked about the team\u2019s \u201cslow start,\u201d he said it was \u201cvery frustrating, especially when you\u2019re playing a quarterback that like on that side,\u201d referring to Ravens quarterback\u00a0Lamar Jackson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn offense that powerful, you just can\u2019t do it, honestly,\u201d\u00a0he added. \u201cJust holding some of the defensive guys, we have to look in the mirror. Us offense first, and we have to help them. I know they\u2019re standing. They don\u2019t allow 28 points against an MVP player (Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson) and an offense like that. It\u2019s a game that we have to score 30, and we know it. We didn\u2019t, so it started late.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThat\u2019s the biggest part of it. The penalties and some errors. I guess you can say whether it be alignment, whether it be assignment, we\u2019ve got to be cleaner. We\u2019ve got to lock in and be more focused on our job, take accountability in every position and grow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he feels he needs to do more as a \u201cleader,\u201d\u00a0Prescott said, \u201cYeah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf guys are dwelling and guys are sitting on a loss or back-to-back losses, I\u2019ve got to obviously speak up and let them know that it\u2019s over with,\u201d he said. Later, he added, \u201cWe just have to understand the process, trust the process and be accountable.
