He flew out of Los Angeles at 9 a.m. on Saturday, returning to Utah just in time to head to Smith\u2019s Ballpark for Oklahoma City\u2019s second-to-last regular-season game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor a second I was like, \u2018Wow this is about to be a long day,\u2019\u201d\u00a0he said. \u201cBut it\u2019s the game of baseball \u2013 the less you think about what\u2019s going on in front of you, usually things play out a little better for you.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"stream-item stream-item-in-post stream-item-inline-post aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"stream-item-size\">\n<p>In the first inning, he launched a 432-foot two-run homer to the opposite field. Then in the third, he crushed a 461-foot home run \u2014 his longest in Triple-A \u2014 with an impressive 109 mph exit velocity.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old always knew he had power but a few adjustments in the box this season allowed him to unleash it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComing into this year, my sole goal was to swing the bat more,\u201d\u00a0Rushing said.\u00a0\u201cI know there\u2019s a higher risk with that. There\u2019s also a higher reward. So by doing that, the strikeout percentage hasn\u2019t climbed up like crazy, it stayed pretty consistent to 2023. My walk percentage went down a little bit, but that\u2019s something you\u2019re willing to take when you\u2019re driving in more runs for the team and that\u2019s just a sacrifice you take as a hitter. I think that\u2019s the difference. I\u2019m going into the box this year with that mindset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those adjustments this season have paid off with 114 hits between Double-A and Triple-A, including 26 home runs.
