After All-Star designated hitter\u00a0Shohei Ohtani\u2019s solo home run tied the game in the ninth inning, Dodgers outfielder\u00a0Mookie Betts\u2019 walk-off home run sealed the\u00a0Los Angeles Dodgers\u00a06-5 victory against the Colorado Rockies. Instead of\u00a0walking Ohtani to get to Betts, like Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington instructed his team earlier this month, the Rockies\u2019 Seth Halvorsen surrendered back-to-back homers in the bottom of the eighth as Sunday\u2019s win completed a 2-1 series win for the Dodgers.<\/p>\n

After the win, Betts talked about how crucial Ohtani\u2019s\u00a0game-tying home run\u00a0was.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was huge, especially when you\u2019re looking at the scoreboard and you see San Diego won,\u201d Betts said. \u201cI didn\u2019t mean to look at it, but they won, and we needed to win a game there. Shohei starts it off with a homer there to give us some energy, and fortunately, I was able to put a good swing on it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts also talked about Shohei Ohtani setting the tone in the bottom of the ninth.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo start that ninth inning with Shohei continuing to do what he does, he just doesn\u2019t seem human right now,\u201d Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. \u201cI really haven\u2019t seen a player as locked like Shohei is for as long as he\u2019s been in quite some time.\u201d<\/p>\n
