The Chiefs moved to 3-0 with Sunday night\u2019s road win over the Falcons, but quarterback Patrick Mahomes wasn\u2019t acting like a conquering hero when he met the media for a postgame press conference.<\/p>\n
Mahomes threw two touchdowns in the 22-17 victory, but he also threw an interception in the end zone during the win. It\u2019s the fourth interception he\u2019s thrown this season and Mahomes said he has not played up to the standard he\u2019s set for himself to this point in the season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like I\u00a0haven\u2019t played very well<\/span>\u00a0and that\u2019s not a stats thing,\u201d Mahomes said. \u201cI just feel like I\u2019m missing opportunities whenever they\u2019re out there and not throwing the ball in the exact spot I want it to be at. It\u2019s about me getting back to my fundamentals, putting our guys in the right position, and then we\u2019ve got to execute at a higher level offensively. If teams are going to make us drive the field, we have to prove that we\u2019re able to do that, and I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll get a lot of the same this next week with the Chargers.\u201d<\/p>\n Given the heights we\u2019ve seen Mahomes reach during his career, it\u2019s hard to argue with his assessment of his play over the last three weeks.
