The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0fell to 1-2 after a 28-25 loss to the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Just like the\u00a0New Orleans Saints\u00a0in Week 2, the Ravens did anything they wanted against the Dallas defense. Newly acquired running back\u00a0Derrick Henry\u00a0recorded 25 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback\u00a0Lamar Jackson\u00a0added 269 total yards and two total touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Dallas scored 19 consecutive points in the fourth quarter to make the game close, but it was not enough.<\/p>\n

Over the offseason, the Cowboys were considered a potential destination for Henry, who became a free agent after the 2023 season, especially after owner Jerry Jones said he was “all in.” But Dallas never even reached out to Henry’s camp, and he signed with Baltimore.<\/p>\n

After the loss, Jones was asked about the current state of his team and he revealed why he didn’t sign the former\u00a0Tennessee Titans\u00a0star. His response was posted online by The Athletic’s Jon Machota.<\/p>\n

“I like our personnel,” Jones said. “We couldn’t afford Derrick Henry.”<\/p>\n

Jones elected to sign his former first-round pick, Ezekiel Elliott, who last played for the Cowboys in 2022. As a result, Dallas finds themselves near the bottom of the\u00a0NFL\u00a0in rushing yards with only 221 through three games.<\/p>\n
