Now on the cusp of the MLB playoffs,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/dodgers-news-tony-gonsolin-takes-huge-step-towards-injury-return\">Gonsolin is one step closer to a return<\/a>\u00a0as he is scheduled to start for the Oklahoma City Baseball Club, the Dodgers&#8217;\u00a0 Triple-A affiliate from the Pacific Coast League. Gonsolin could\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/billplunkettocr\/status\/1837609339823243527\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">return as soon as next week<\/a>\u00a0if this rehab start goes well, according to Bill Plunkett, a Dodgers&#8217; beat writer from the Orange County Register.<\/p>\n<div class=\"aspect-video w-full\">\n<div class=\"not-prose flex aspect-video w-full items-center justify-center\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In August of 2023, it was announced\u00a0Gonsolin would undergo Tommy John surgery. At the time, the righty starter had an\u00a0optimistic view of the surgery and recovery process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to a fresh start,\u201d Gonsolin said last season. \u201cI get to start over from the beginning and use this as an opportunity to get the rest of my body in a really good spot and overall get my arm in the best shape it can be in.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_1_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-sticky-container adthrive-content adthrive-content-1 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/18190176,120193976\/AdThrive_Content_1\/5e90daf19f500876e949a3d9_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"google-ad-manager-fallback-container\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s not guaranteed that Gonsolin will be ready for a full start in time for the postseason, as the Dodgers&#8217; manager believes his chances to pitch this season are \u201cslightly open.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think that\u2019s a good mindset for Tony to kind of shoot for something this year,\u201d he said. \u201cIf all things line up, great, and if it doesn\u2019t, then we can pivot to \u201925. But I think that his mindset that the door is not completely closed on \u201924 is a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After spending much of the season on the injured list, the Dodgers recently\u00a0brought\u00a0Yoshinobu Yamamoto back to the team.
