The Dallas Cowboys spent the entire offseason ignoring concerns about their running back rotation. They moved on from Tony Pollard and replaced him with past-his-prime Ezekiel Elliott and somehow thought that they would be fine. They decided to enter the season with the Rico Dowdle and Zeke one-two punch and much to the surprise of absolutely nobody,\u00a0that combination hasn’t proven fruitful.<\/p>\n

Head coach Mike McCarthy has been searching for answers there as he started Elliott in Week 1 but benched him in favor of Dowdle against the Saints in Week 2. So far, they have been carrying a similar workload, 15 carries for Dowdle and 16 attempts for Zeke. Neither of them has been particularly effective, however, as the Cowboys average a disappointing 3.7 yards per carry through two games.<\/p>\n

While Cowboys fans are concerned about that type of production, Jerry Jones doesn’t think there is anything to be concerned about. In his appearance on 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys owner said he likes the quality and depth of their running back room.<\/p>\n
