She responded to the backlash not by explaining how or why her values led her to potentially support Trump, but by accusing critics of being \u201chaters\u201d and\u00a0then asking for compassion. Not exactly the best way to talk about who should be the leader of the free world, but a gaffe does not a monster make.<\/p>\n<p>Her friend Taylor Swift, however, has been very purposeful and measured in when and how she speaks about politics (to be fair, she\u2019s been in the game much longer), and\u00a0her endorsement of the Harris\u2013Walz ticket after the presidential debate was firm but ultimately polite. She didn\u2019t attack Trump supporters or even mention the man by name, so when the former\u00a0<em>Apprentice<\/em>\u00a0host\u00a0responded\u00a0by saying that\u00a0he \u201chates\u201d the pop star, it may have irked Mahomes (remember, Brittany dislikes haters). That\u2019s what the insiders say, anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is questioning her support for\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0after he lashed out at Taylor, saying he hates her,\u201d a source close to Mahomes\u00a0told the\u00a0<em>Daily Mail<\/em>. \u201cTaylor is like a sister to her and she has done absolutely nothing wrong. This shook her to the core.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mahomes is currently pregnant with her third child with husband Patrick Mahomes, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. When asked recently about political endorsements,\u00a0Patrick promised not to name a candidate. \u201cI don\u2019t want my place and my platform to be used to endorse a candidate or do whatever, either way,\u201d Mahomes said during a press conference. \u201cI think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote.
