Liam Payne<\/span>‘s ex girlfriend Danielle Peazer has revealed she isn’t ‘mentally strong enough to face the reality of what has happened’ as she broke her silence on the singer’s tragic death aged 31.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0One Direction<\/span>\u00a0singer plunged 45ft from the third floor into the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, prompting a wave of tributes from across the showbiz world.<\/p>\n

And Danielle took to Instagram on Saturday to share her tribute to Liam after the pair dated on and off from 2010 until 2012.<\/p>\n

The model explained she had been taking the last few days to process the news of the star’s death as she penned: ‘In time I will share more, but right now I don’t feel mentally strong enough to face the reality of what’s happened’.<\/p>\n

Describing it as a ‘heartbreaking time’, Danielle explained the last few days had been made even more difficult due to negative comments from vicious trolls.<\/p>\n

She wrote:\u00a0‘Like all of us, I too am grieving, and need to take some time to do that privately.<\/p>\n

‘It’s a heartbreaking time, which has already been made so much more challenging due to receiving negative and misinformed comments as well pre conceived judgement from those who don’t personally know me, Liam or anything about out relationship over the last 14 years.’<\/p>\n

She concluded: ‘I will be back soon when I’m ready but until then please take care of each other.’<\/p>\n

While Danielle referenced the negative abuse she had received, she also thanked people for their supportive messages.<\/p>\n

She said: ‘Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to call, text, or DM sending condolences and offering support.<\/p>\n

‘I’m so grateful and it’s helped more than you know.’<\/p>\n

Danielle, who is now in a relationship and shares daughter Mia with Sonny Jay, dated Liam on and off from 2010 when they both met on the X Factor.<\/p>\n

They split in 2012 but were thought to have\u00a0enjoyed a very brief reconciliation back in 2022.<\/p>\n

The Girls Aloud singer was previously in a relationship with Liam for two years, with the pair welcoming their child, Bear Grey, into the world on March 22, 2017.<\/p>\n

The grieving mother took to\u00a0Instagram<\/span>\u00a0on Friday evening telling of her anguish as she tries ‘navigate this earth shattering event’.<\/p>\n

Her statement read: ‘As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time.<\/p>\n

‘I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being.<\/p>\n

‘Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a\u00a0 dear friend and a father to our seven year old son.<\/p>\n

‘A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.’<\/p>\n

On March 22, 2017, the\u00a0Girls Aloud<\/span>\u00a0singer gave birth to their son Bear, previously writing to Instagram: ‘On Wednesday Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy looking like a dream.’<\/p>\n

However a year later in July, Cheryl and Liam announced their split.<\/p>\n

Later on in her statement, Cheryl kindly requested for the public and media to ‘give Liam the little dignity he has left.’<\/p>\n

She continued: ‘What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past two days.<\/p>\n

‘It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in the future.<\/p>\n

‘I am begging you to consider what use some of these reports are serving, other than to cause further harm to everyone left behind picking up the pieces.<\/p>\n

‘Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them.<\/p>\n

‘Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some piece.’<\/p>\n

Police were called to the hotel following reports of an ‘aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol’.<\/p>\n

Shortly afterwards, workers heard a loud sound in the hotel’s courtyard before the Wolverhampton-born singer’s body was discovered just after 5pm local time.<\/p>\n

Shocked fans gathered outside after police cordoned off the area with forensic investigators seen entering and exiting in white protective suits and blue gloves.<\/p>\n
