Last season the\u00a0Tampa Bay Buccaneers\u2019 offense suffered from the\u00a0NFL\u2019s worst rushing offense. They have since turned that around and pose a dynamic backfield capable of producing big numbers, evidenced in their Week 6 win over the\u00a0New Orleans Saints.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0have since taken that spot, currently dead last in the league in rushing yards, yards per game and yards per carry.\u00a0 Amid those unsightly results, Cowboys fan and Pro Basketball Hall of Famer\u00a0Shaquille O\u2019Neal has called for a solution.<\/p>\n

On his most recent episode of\u00a0\u201cThe Big Podcast\u201d with Shaq, he hosted free agent and former Bucs running back Leonard Fournette. When discussing a potential return to the league for the veteran, Shaq called his team to action.<\/p>\n

\u201cJerry Jones. Jerry Jones. It\u2019s me, your boy, Shaq. Look at him [Fournette], looking good, six pack \u2026. he\u2019s ready to go.\u201d he said. \u201cAlright, Jerry Jones? Stop messing around.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFacts, [I\u2019m] still 29,\u201d Fournette added.<\/p>\n

For the Cowboys, specifically, it is hard to imagine Fournette playing a role on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Team.\u201d Dallas has two veteran running backs at their disposal, Ezekiel Elliott on the 53-man roster and Dalvin Cook on the practice squad.<\/p>\n

Barring significant injury or losses at the position, Fournette has no place on that depth chart. At age 29 could there be a return elsewhere for him?<\/p>\n

Likely not. The\u00a0Buffalo Bills signed him to their practice squad last season but never found much use for him. Tampa Bay does not need any external help in the backfield, sitting nicely with the three-headed monster of Rachaad White, Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker.<\/p>\n

While he may not make a return to the league anytime soon, his short legacy and\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0LV contributions will not be forgotten by the Bucs\u2019 faithful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
