Former president\u00a0Donald Trump<\/span>\u00a0has revealed he prefers football from the stands rather than the field.<\/p>\n

The Republican nominee, 78, who also opened up on a\u00a0failed attempt to buy an NFL franchise<\/span>, lifted the lid on his football-playing days Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The presidential hopeful revealed in an interview with\u00a0‘Bussin’ With The Boys’ that although he could ‘catch the ball good’ as a tight end like\u00a0Kansas<\/span>\u00a0City Chiefs star\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/span>, he wasn’t particularly a fan of some elements of America’s favorite sport.<\/p>\n

Trump, who is on the campaign trail to retake the\u00a0White House<\/span>, admitted that he struggled with the roughness and strength of the game.<\/p>\n

‘I didn’t like some guy who was lifting weights all day long and came from a bad neighborhood seeing me… and they were tackling hard,’ he confessed\u00a0on the popular\u00a0YouTube<\/span>\u00a0show.<\/p>\n

Trump was a three sport athlete at New York Military Academy and played on the football team for one year.<\/p>\n

Although Trump wasn’t a huge fan of being on the field, his\u00a0passion for football has stayed with him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Just last month, he sent the crowd into a frenzy when he\u00a0attended a college football showdown between Alabama and Georgia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And the businessman also revealed Tuesday that he almost incorporated his love of the sport into his business empire.<\/p>\n

Trump offered $1billion cash for the Bills a decade ago, following the death of founder and Hall of Fame owner Ralph Wilson.<\/p>\n

Trump was one of three known finalists in the battle to take charge of Buffalo. A group led by rock star Jon Bon Jovi also showed interest in acquiring the team.<\/p>\n
