The Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0 through the first six weeks of the season (bye week included).\u00a0 Week seven will feature Kansas City hitting the road to take on the San Francisco 49ers.\u00a0 A lot has been made about Kansas City possibly being interested in acquiring a wide receiver by the trade deadline following Rashee Rice\u2019s season ending injury.<\/p>\n
Now, head coach Andy Reid has spoken about that potential.<\/span><\/p>\n

When considering potential pass-catching options ahead of the deadline, \u201cfamiliarity\u201d will be an important factor when\u00a0considering\u00a0wide receiver additions via trade:<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that [familiarity] helped\u00a0JuJu [Smith-Schuster]\u00a0and his situation coming back in and jumping in,\u201d Reid replied. \u201cIt helped\u00a0Mecole [Hardman] coming back [in 2023], but I\u2019m not telling you other guys can\u2019t come in and help out. That\u2019s not \u2014 I don\u2019t think that\u2019s an issue.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just going to take [a newcomer] a little bit longer to figure it out and get on the same page with\u00a0Pat [Mahomes]\u00a0and all those things,\u201d the Chiefs HC acknowledged. \u201cIt just won\u2019t be quite as good as what you\u2019ve seen with these other guys that have been in it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Chiefs\u2019 offensive system thrives on trust and experience under Reid. Of course, a few names jump to the top of the list when it comes to the 2024 wide receiver trade market.\u00a0 Davante Adams is right at the top of that list.\u00a0 It would be shocking to see the Las Vegas Raiders trade their super star wide receiver to division rival, though.<\/span><\/p>\n
