And I\u2019m glad we got to be in this ride with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Finally, one Steelers user even went as far as\u00a0to request that Wilson \u201cplease start next week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wilson\u2019s post had over 8,000 likes in approximately five hours. It did not mention his fellow starting QB competition, Fields, but did support his team after a big revenge game win over an organization that\u00a0released Wilson\u00a0back in March.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Steelers\u2019 Justin Fields Predicted to Start Again Over Russell Wilson in Week 3<\/h2>\n<p>Ahead of the Week 2 outing in Denver, there was a report\u00a0from Steelers insider Gerry Dulac\u00a0that\u00a0Pittsburgh plans to start Fields\u00a0at least until Week 4.<\/p>\n<p>ESPN\u2019s\u00a0Brooke Pryor seconded that prediction after the Broncos win.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarly prediction for next week,\u201d the beat reporter said. \u201cQB Justin Fields starts again in the Steelers\u2019 home opener.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reasoning: \u201cThough Fields had an uneven performance, he played well enough for the Steelers to continue to be cautious with Russell Wilson\u2019s calf injury. Fields completed 10 of 12 attempts for 101 yards and a touchdown pass \u2014 his first as a Steeler \u2014 in the first half.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, The Athletic\u2019s\u00a0Mike DeFabo noted\u00a0\u201cgrowth\u201d and continued improvement from Fields. Although he also acknowledged that the Steelers offense must \u201ccontinue to improve\u201d and put more points on the board no matter who is at quarterback.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFields managed the game well in the first half, completing 10 of 12 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown. He also added 26 yards on the ground,\u201d DeFabo recapped. \u201cHowever, in the second half, the offense struggled to stay in rhythm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Steelers possessed the ball seven times in the second half,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe longest of the seven lasted just five plays. Three times in the second half, the Steelers went three-and-out.
