It was down a little bit last year, but since he\u2019s been here, 39, 40 percent. I want a lot of 3s and I want a lot of attacks to the rim. He shot 80-plus percent from the foul line in the second half of the year last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe looks really comfortable in every aspect of the game. And let\u2019s face it, with Klay gone, we need him to step up and be our second scorer after Steph, and we know he\u2019s perfectly capable of that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wiggins had to recapture his old form after his 3-point shooting dipped to 35.8% last season. He was in and out of the starting lineup while averaging a career-low 13.6 points.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Steve Kerr Hopeful Andrew Wiggins\u2019 Father\u2019s Death Bring Peace<\/h2>\n<p>Kerr believes Wiggins will have a redemption season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell I\u2019m not going to put numbers on it, I\u2019m just going to put aggression and peace of mind, which I\u2019m seeing right now,\u201d Kerr told Burke. \u201cIt\u2019s been a brutally difficult two years for Wiggs and his family, with his father passing away recently. It\u2019s been trying for him. There\u2019s no question his dad\u2019s health impacted his play and impacted his well-being. As sad as it is, I\u2019m hopeful his father\u2019s death brings a little peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know, from experience, over time, that does happen. If Wiggs has a sense of freedom and some peace of mind and his family behind him, which he always does, he\u2019s an unbelievable human being and an incredible athlete, and he\u2019s 29. He\u2019s right in his prime. So I just think this is going to be a great year for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wiggins\u2019 mysterious absences were tied to his father\u2019s battling sickness at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Shams Charania, formerly of The Athletic, reported in 2022 that Wiggin\u2019s father has been dealing with a serious medical condition, which explained the Warriors forward\u2019s mysterious personal absences over the past two seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Wiggins missed two months of the 2022-23 NBA season, then missed another four games last season. He also He\u00a0canceled a business trip\u00a0to China this offseason due to a family emergency, which was surmised to be related to his father\u2019s medical condition.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Andrew Wiggins\u2019 Status Remains Unclear<\/h2>\n<p>Wiggins was spotted working out with the team\u2019s second unit:\u00a0Kyle Anderson,\u00a0Moses Moody,\u00a0Gary Payton II\u00a0and\u00a0Kevon Looney\u00a0in one of their practices leading to the Warriors\u2019 preseason win against the\u00a0Sacramento Kings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were just getting our ones in,\u201d\u00a0Wiggins told reporters. \u201cWorking on our game. Iron sharpens iron.
