One of those friendships was with\u00a0Kayla Nicole, the woman who dated\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0from 2017 through 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Following Nicole and Kelce\u2019s split, she and Mahomes, as well as some of the other WAGs, started to grow apart. Nicole addressed this during a recent interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were cool [but] we are not as cool as we once were,\u201d Nicole\u00a0said on the \u201cUnapologetically Angel\u201d podcast in October 2024. \u201cThat was like family,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Nicole did not mention Mahomes by name. The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I\u2019ve communicated to these people why I\u2019ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made,\u201d Nicole\u00a0told People magazine\u00a0of her decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo everyone it\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, you broke up a year ago,\u2019 and that meant it\u2019s like a light switch, you turn it on and off and everything goes dead and black and you don\u2019t ever speak to anyone ever again. That\u2019s not reality. I have ongoing relationships with all parties involved,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n<p>When specifically talking about Brittany Mahomes, Nicole said, \u201cshe knows that I love her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a lot of history and friendship there, that doesn\u2019t change overnight. But publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself. That\u2019s really all that is. Swift has been in attendance at many football games at Arrowhead Stadium and has become friends with many WAGs, including Mahomes.<\/p>\n<p>And while Nicole is no longer in the Kelce sphere, she\u2019s received quite a bit of \u201chate\u201d on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just, like, online chaos didn\u2019t impact me, it does. Even to this day. You can go to my most recent post and it will be people debating each other why I am worthless and I\u2019ll never be a talented person and I have no career,\u201d Nicole said on the \u201cUnapologetically Angel\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n<p>As for why she thinks this is happening, Nicole admits that she doesn\u2019t know.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that there\u2019s something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people, and it\u2019s unfortunate because I\u2019ve never done anything to warrant that kind of backlash,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, she admits that she has seen Kelce in public, but she keeps her distance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that we\u2019re both aware of the nature of his new situation that there\u2019s just no room really for us to communicate or acknowledge each other publicly without it being spun into something crazy,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brittany Mahomes\u00a0has had close-knit relationships with a few of the wives and girlfriends of her husband\u2019s\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0teammates over the years.
