49ers News: Latest on George Kittle and Fred Warner Injuries

49ers' latest injury report for Week 5 game with Cardinals doesn't look good for George Kittle and Fred Warner

The San Francisco 49ers have been dealing with significant injuries to the team’s star players all season. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel missed Week 3 with a calf injury and was listed as questionable for Week 4, but managed 58 yards despite the ailment.

Star running back Christian McCaffrey continues to remain out due to tendinitis in both his feet, and his return is currently unknown. Even tight end George Kittle and linebacker Fred Warner have both been dealing with injuries.

Kittle was pulled from Week 3 as well with a hamstring injury and is now dealing with a rib injury, which led to his not practicing on Wed and Thur. Warner also popped up on the Week 5 injury report with an ankle injury and has not practiced the last two days.

Now, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has offered a huge update on both Kittle and Warner.

According to NFL Network reporter Clayton Holloway, “Kyle Shanahan lists LB Fred Warner (ankle) and TE George Kittle (ribs) as questionable Sunday vs Cardinals.”

Both Kittle and Warner are questionable to suit up on Sunday when the 49ers are set to take on the Arizona Cardinals. Divisional matchups can always be difficult to deal with, and now the 49ers will be without two of its most important stars.

That’s not to mention the fact that McCaffrey is still out as well.

The 49ers are not fully healthy, and the last time they were without McCaffrey and Kittle, they lost to the Los Angeles Rams. The Cardinals have also been showing flashes of brilliance this season and could give San Francisco a tough time.

Warner has secured one sack, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions through four games. He is already putting together a career year through four games. However, he might have to miss a game due to his ankle injury.

The 49ers are currently 2-2, and one game behind the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West. The good news is they are dealing with injuries now, and could get far more healthy down the stretch.

Despite missing out on a Super Bowl win in 2023, the 49ers are favored to return. However, their odds of securing a Super Bowl victory took a hit when McCaffrey was revealed to be dealing with tendinitis.

The hope is he can return along with the team’s biggest stars sooner rather than later.
