Amid Taylor Swift‘s two-game absence from the Kansas City Chiefs suite, Travis Kelce‘s best friend Aric Jones opened up on welcoming the pop star to their circle of friends.
After being at the Chiefs’ first two games this season for her 14th and 15th appearance, Swift was absent during Kelce’s away games in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
Speaking to Page Six, Jones opened up about the 14-time Grammy winner’s impact on the friend group and the tight end.
‘I’m never going to downplay [the hype] or to say [the new attention] isn’t the coolest stuff in the world,’ Jones told the publication.
‘But, at the same time, all we got to do is be us. And the only thing that’s changed is that there’s a camera in the suite now.’
Travis Kelce’s best friend opened up on welcoming Taylor Swift to their friendship circle
Aric Jones and Kelce have been friends since they were kindergarteners in Cleveland Heights
Jones and Kelce have been friends since they were kindergarteners playing for the same hockey team in Cleveland Heights. They have remained close since, with Jones being one of the friends in Kelce’s inner circle sitting in the private suite every Sunday.
When he is not cheering his childhood best friend on at Arrowhead, Jones runs his lifestyle and clothing brand, Homebred Legends. He founded the brand in 2017 and dedicated its designs to the spirit of the Heights.
Kelce has been seen wearing homebred on the New Heights podcast and wore one of the brand’s trucker hats with his Lanvin separates while arriving at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs’ home opener on September 5.
‘I wanted to do something that represented me and my friends in my city of Cleveland Heights, Ohio,’ Jones explained. ‘Travis and Jason [Kelce] are great spokespeople for the city as well. So we just have a lot of pride out where we’re from.’

While not fishing for Swift to sport one of his pieces like her boyfriend does, Jones went on to praise Swift’s individuality and willingness to be one of the boys when it comes to being at the games.
‘Taylor’s great,’ Jones said. ‘Taylor’s her own woman. And like, if Taylor wants to participate with us on theme nights, of course, we welcome it.’
‘But at the end of the day, just having her there and having her presence there is awesome. She’s there to cheer on her boyfriend and hang out with us and, to be quite honest, that’s enough.’
