GIVEMESPORT confirmed that Manchester City is considering a plan to recruit the English midfielder in January.
As expected, Rodri suffered a particularly serious injury during the Arsenal clash. Many reports suggest that the Spanish star is likely to be out for the rest of the season, so it would not be surprising if Manchester City recruit a new midfielder in the winter transfer window.
In fact, sources from GIVEMESPORT confirmed that The Citizens are seriously considering the above plan, with Adam Wharton identified as the top target to replace Rodri. Previously, Wharton was also strongly linked with Man City in the summer, but in the end they did not make any specific moves. Besides The Citizens, the midfielder from Crystal Palace is also said to be the target of many other “big guys” such as Liverpool and Manchester United.
Wharton is considered one of the most promising midfielders in English football today.
Wharton only moved to Palace from Blackburn Rovers in January, for a transfer fee of around £22 million, and has been an extremely important player at Selhurst Park. Therefore, the “Eagles” are said to have no intention of parting with this player, so it is likely that Man City will have to spend a huge fee to convince the London club.
