Brandin Podziemski On What He Will Miss The Most About Klay Thompson

Brandin Podziemski recently opened up about what he will miss most about Klay Thompson, following Thompson’s departure from the Golden State Warriors to the Dallas Mavericks.  In an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Laura Britt, Podziemski shared that Thompson’s presence in the locker room was invaluable.

“The presence in the locker room, the veteran things that he shared with all of our young guys. How he carries himself, his demeanor — especially on the off days — how he works out, works on his body being in his mid-30s now.”

“Whenever I needed advice if it wasn’t Steph, Klay was always there to share that with me. No one is going to be Klay Thompson We’re just going to do our best to fill that void and take another step.”

Despite spending only one season with the veteran guard, Podziemski expressed deep appreciation for the impact Thompson had on him and the rest of the young players. Podziemski also revealed that Thompson was always available for advice. Thompson’s leadership and guidance were key for the Warriors’ younger players, and his departure leaves a significant void in that regard.

Despite this, Podziemski acknowledged the reality of moving forward without Thompson. As the Warriors enter a new era, Podziemski will be a central figure in their post-Klay plans, learning from the examples set by veterans like Thompson.

Though Klay Thompson is no longer with the Warriors, the lessons he imparted will continue to influence Podziemski and his young teammates as they strive to keep the Warriors competitive in the upcoming season.

Brandin Podziemski Will Have A Major Role To Fill For The Warriors

Brandin Podziemski has a major role to fill for the Golden State Warriors, especially after Klay Thompson’s departure to the Dallas Mavericks. In his rookie season, Podziemski averaged a solid 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting 45.4% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc. His versatile playmaking and shooting ability make him a valuable asset, and with Thompson gone, Podziemski is expected to step up and likely take a starting role.

The Warriors are nearing the end of an era as Stephen Curry, now 36, has only a few seasons left, and Draymond Green, at 34, is also in the twilight of his career. This creates a massive opportunity for Podziemski to not only carve out a significant role but also to grow into a future star for the team. His performances in his rookie season, which included several double-digit scoring games, demonstrate his potential to contribute at a higher level.

Podziemski, along with Jonathan Kuminga, who is also expected to start, could form the backbone of the Warriors’ next generation. As the team prepares for life after Curry and Green, these young players will have the chance to develop into cornerstone pieces for the franchise. With his talent and work ethic, Podziemski has the opportunity to establish himself as a key player for the Warriors in the coming seasons.
