The NBA legend wouldn’t be able to choose who to root for.
The MLB Postseason is truly in full swing now, with all but one Division Series matchup having been decided. On Friday, the Los Angeles Dodgers eliminated the San Diego Padres. They are now one series away from Shohei Ohtani, the biggest star in baseball, making it to a World Series for the first time in his career.
The Dodgers already know their opponent, as the New York Mets clinched their spot in the NLCS a couple of days ago. While New Yorkers want a “Subway Series” rematch between the Mets and the New York Yankees, the Bronx Bombers still have to get past the Detroit Tigers or Cleveland Guardians to get there. The Yankees will know their opponent by Saturday evening. The casual fan might hope for something more chaotic, though, and it has to do with NBA legend LeBron James.
LeBron James attends Dodgers vs Padres game
James was present during the Dodgers’ Game 5 win over the Padres on Friday night, attending the game with wife Savannah and cheering on the LA team, which makes sense considering he plays for the Lakers.
But right after the game, James tweeted out a show of support for the Guardians.
James is from Ohio, so it’s logical that he would be a fan of the Guardians. If the Dodgers and Guardians meet in the World Series, LeBron would have to tread very carefully when deciding which team to root for.
Making matter even more confounding is that James has openly said that he is a Yankees fan. With three different teams in James’ scope of fandom, it’s anyone’s guess who he would support in any scenario; just probably not the Mets in any.
